This report collects Claude and Anthropic statistics for November 2026: users and share, revenue and losses, business adoption, valuation and the IPO filing, Claude Code and models, and the regulatory record. It is one page in our AI statistics report. Every figure is printed as its source states it, with the source's own date and the sample or method beside it. Anthropic's own statements, from its announcements and its SEC filing, are kept apart from measurement-firm estimates (Similarweb, Sensor Tower, Appfigures, Statcounter, Ramp) and from figures news outlets reported; the label sits in the Source cell. Figures repeated elsewhere that we could not trace to their source are listed near the end and left out of the tables. Each table row gives the figure, the source and its date, the sample or method, and the day we checked it.

How many people use Claude
We found no Claude user count from Anthropic, so the figures below come from measurement firms, and each counts something different. The largest public measure is Similarweb's: claude.ai recorded approximately 950 million to 969 million visits per month in Similarweb's latest reading (page dated 24 September 2026), and a visit is a session, not a person, so one user may count many times. We track market share across AI platforms in our AI statistics report.

Web visits and share (Similarweb)
Similarweb counts each session as a visit. On that measure, Claude's share of gen AI website traffic rose from 2.3% in October 2025 to 9.6% in September 2026, while ChatGPT's fell from 71.8% to 56.4%. Monthly visits to claude.ai increased from 203 million in February 2026 to 824 million in April 2026. Sign-up flow visits reached 21.4M in August 2026, +504% YoY, and 45% of users who joined in February 2026 were still active six months later. The same share series for rival chatbots sits in ChatGPT statistics: users, web share and revenue and Google Gemini statistics: web share and app downloads. Similarweb cannot observe API consumption, contract values or revenue, so these rows describe web traffic only.

App audience and downloads (Sensor Tower and Appfigures)
Sensor Tower measured Claude's True Audience up 452% year on year in May 2026, with US market share rising from 4.4% to nearly 14% over the same period, and Claude gaining 40 minutes to reach 120 minutes of use per user per month. True Audience is Sensor Tower's measure of unique users across mobile apps and web. Appfigures estimated 20M downloads worldwide in April 2026, putting Claude at #9 for the month; every Appfigures figure is an estimate.
Referrals Claude sends to websites (Statcounter and Cloudflare)
Statcounter counts referrals to websites, not users or prompts. On that measure Claude held 0.95% of AI chatbot referrals worldwide in September 2026, against ChatGPT's 80.47%, and 1.55% in the UK. We track the same referral series in Perplexity AI statistics. Cloudflare Radar's crawl-to-refer ratio tracks how often a platform sends traffic to a site relative to how often it crawls that site; Anthropic's ratio reached as much as 500,000:1 in 2025 and was "quite erratic" from January through May. Anthropic revenue and profitability
Anthropic's S-1, filed with the SEC, states revenue of $16.3 billion for the six months ended 30 June 2026 and $4.6 billion for 2025. Most run-rate figures in circulation are reported by news outlets rather than stated by Anthropic; only two run-rate points are company-stated.

Run-rate revenue
Anthropic stated a run-rate of $14 billion in February 2026 and said run-rate revenue crossed $47 billion in May 2026. The $65 billion point for the end of July 2026 was reported by CNBC from an investor update. VentureBeat reported the earlier points, from $87 million in January 2024 to $30 billion in April 2026.
Run-rate revenue, company-stated and reported. Anthropic's S-1 defines Run-Rate Revenue as "calculated as the sum of (i) our consumption-based fees during the trailing 28-day period ended on the measurement date, multiplied by 13, and (ii) our aggregate monthly subscription fees as of the measurement date, multiplied by 12".

Revenue, losses and margin in the S-1
The S-1 states net losses of $1.5 billion for 2023, $8.3 billion for 2024, $42.0 billion for 2025 and $80.7 billion for the six months ended 30 June 2026; the S-1 says $72.4 billion of the 2026 loss came from changes in the fair value of convertible notes, derivative liabilities and SAFEs. Beside the GAAP loss, the filing shows Adjusted Operating Income of $1.6 billion for the same six months, a non-GAAP measure, up from an Adjusted Operating Loss of $1.8 billion a year earlier. CNBC's calculation from the filing, published 30 October 2026, implies a gross margin of 85%. The quarterly figures below are reported, not company-stated: CNBC, citing Bloomberg, put Q2 2026 at more than $11.5 billion preliminary, while Reuters later reported $11.6 billion for the same quarter.

Claude enterprise and business adoption
On Ramp's card and bill-pay data, 43.8% of businesses on Ramp paid Anthropic in September 2026, against 40.6% for OpenAI, and Anthropic captured 60.5% of business AI token spending in the week ending 23 October 2026. Anthropic's S-1 counts more than 1,900 customers at $1 million or more of trailing-twelve-month revenue at 30 September 2026.

Paid adoption on Ramp
Among Ramp businesses, 43.8% paid Anthropic in September 2026, up 0.25 percentage points from August, while OpenAI adoption rose 1.12 percentage points to 40.6%. Overall AI adoption reached 55.9% of US businesses on Ramp in September 2026, up 12.1 points from a year earlier. Ramp's sample covers more than 85,000 American businesses and billions of dollars of corporate spend, and Ramp cautions that its results likely underestimate adoption because free tools and personal accounts produce no paid transaction.
Ara Kharazian, Lead Economist, Ramp, described the slowdown in Ramp's October 2026 AI Index post: "It feels like we're at the top of the S-curve, where the growth in the market will have to come from more intense adoption rather than more customers."
Customers by spend band
The S-1 counts customers by trailing-twelve-month revenue at 30 September 2026: more than 11,900 at $100,000 or more, up from more than 950 a year earlier; more than 1,900 at $1 million or more; and approximately 250 at $10 million or more. The S-1 also shows over 50% of the Fortune 500 and over 30% of the Global 2000 were customers in the $100,000 band, and Net Revenue Retention stood at approximately 900%. The filing states Anthropic does not separately define or track an "enterprise" category. Earlier counts keep their own definitions: Anthropic's February 2026 post counts customers over $1 million on an annualised basis, and VentureBeat's May 2026 report counts enterprise customers spending more than $1 million per year. Similarweb, meanwhile, saw corporate login sessions grow 166 times year on year in August 2026.
One bank's rollout: Barclays
Anthropic's post on Barclays, published 1 October 2026, gives one bank's deployment figures. More than 16,000 colleagues have adopted the bank's knowledge assistant, which has handled over one million searches, and a Global Markets platform processes approximately 120,000 emails each day. Barclays expects Claude Code adoption to reach 50% of its developer population by the end of 2026, rising to a majority of software engineers in 2027.

Anthropic valuation and IPO
Anthropic filed its S-1 with the SEC on 26 October 2026, stating an intention to list Class A common stock on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the symbol "ANT"; the number of shares and the price range have not yet been determined. The filing followed two private rounds announced by Anthropic: $30 billion at $380 billion post-money in February 2026, then $65 billion at $965 billion post-money in May 2026.
Reuters reported that Anthropic is seeking to raise as much as $100 billion in the IPO, and that some current and prospective investors are valuing the company at about $1.5 trillion, down from roughly $2 trillion previously expected. CNBC reported a valuation range of $1.5 trillion to $2 trillion. Sinan Aral, MIT Sloan professor and AI investor, framed that range on CNBC's Squawk Box: "If you think about the $1.5 to $2 trillion valuation, that's approximately from the low to high end a 22 times to 30 times revenue multiple."

Claude Code, models and products
The latest company-stated Claude Code figure we found is a run-rate of over $2.5 billion, from Anthropic's February 2026 funding post; weekly active users doubled since 1 January 2026.

Claude Code
Anthropic's February 2026 post states Claude Code's run-rate revenue grew to over $2.5 billion, more than doubling since the beginning of 2026, and that the number of weekly active Claude Code users doubled since 1 January. The same post cites a recent analysis estimating that 4% of all GitHub public commits worldwide were being authored by Claude Code, double the percentage from one month prior; Anthropic does not name the analysis.
Models and prices
Anthropic released Fable 5 and Mythos 5 on 9 June 2026 and introduced Claude Opus 5.5, the first model in the Claude 5.5 family, on 22 September 2026. Anthropic's list price for Opus 5.5 is $4 per million input tokens and $20 per million output tokens, 20% less than Opus 5. A separate Anthropic test result shows Opus 5.5 costing 40% less than Opus 5 on typical workloads at default settings. Anthropic also states Claude is the first frontier model available on all three of the world's largest cloud platforms: Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure.
Project Glasswing
Anthropic reports that partners in Project Glasswing uncovered at least 129,000 verified software vulnerabilities between April and July 2026; more than 33,000 verified vulnerabilities have so far been rated critical- or high-severity. Anthropic states these results are a lower bound, based on partial data from 33 partner reports and its open-source partnerships.
What people use Claude.ai for
Coding remains the most common use of Claude.ai: tasks associated with Computer and Mathematical occupations accounted for 35% of conversations in Anthropic's Economic Index sample of 1 million conversations from Claude.ai and the first-party API, taken 5 to 12 February 2026. Personal use rose from 35% to 42% of conversations between November 2025 and February 2026, while coursework fell from 19% to 12%. People who signed up a year earlier devote 38% of their conversations to personal use, against 44% for the newest users.

How we check these figures
We open every figure at the source we credit and copy the sentence as printed. We print the source's date and the sample or method beside each number. We keep Anthropic's own statements, measurement-firm estimates and figures news outlets reported apart, and the Source cell says which each one is. Figures we could not find at the source they are credited to are named below and left out of the tables. We republish this page every month with the month in the title.
